Lending Hands
At our club Lending Hands we are dedicated to helping and lending a hand to our local healthcare system. During our monthly meetings, we will make care packages and plan out our volunteer events at local hospitals. Chemistry Olympiad
Chemistry Olympiad is responsible for teaching and preparing students for the local national and international Chemistry Olympiad competition/s. We teach advanced concepts that reach even beyond AP Chemistry. We are also open to those who are not interested in competition that just want to study for chemistry, or enjoy the topic. Model United Nations
An educational simulation that emulates the proceedings of the real United Nations and helps students gain important skills like leadership, debate, and impromptu speaking. WJ Mind Boosters
At WJ Mind Boosters, students from WJ volunteer to virtually tutor kids K-8. Tutoring sessions occur on zoom and last for 30-45 minutes, depending on preference. Student are able to earn SSL hours for tutoring, as well as during trainings that will take place once a month during lunch, in which we will teach tutors different strategies and facts that they can use during their sessions. The overall purpose of this club is to support students in need of tutors and provide opportunities for students at WJ to learn about dealing with children and to help set them up for future career paths.

NoVasta DMV

Step is a form of dance that has roots in the African Diaspora. Step involves using only the body to make sounds that are crisp and synchronized. Steppers slap, clap, jump, stomp, and yell, all actions that stem from the individual. Ski Club
The goal of this club is to create a Ski Club that resembles that of North Bethesda Middle School. If you are unfamiliar with the club, during the months of January and start February we hope to be able to have busses on Friday's take all the students that sign up around Thanksgiving to a ski resort such as Whitetail or Liberty. We would then Ski from around 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and then arrive back at the school at around 11:00 pm. This club is not meant to be competitive skiing, but instead a fun option for everybody.

Care Collection
The purpose of Care Collection is to collect donations for low income. These donations may be school supplies, menstrual products, or even something as simple as books. Mission 34
Mission 34, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was founded in loving memory of Sean P. Bonner, Jr, who was #34 on his college baseball team and died by suicide at the age of 20. M34 is on a Mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness through awareness, education, and ambassadors. We ignite change and foster understanding by bringing mental health into the spotlight. Through engaging events, inspiring speakers, active social media presence, and suicide prevention trainings, we create a community that supports mental well-being and encourages everyone to seek help without hesitation. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. This will be the first high school chapter of Mission 34 and it will be at WJ!

Storytelling Through Videogames
“Storytelling through Video Games Club” is a club that wants to bring light to the beautiful stories in video games. In everyday life these stories are really overlooked. This occurs because video games have a very bad connotation against them unlike movies or books. When people think of video games, they usually think of games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, Five nights at Freddy’s, etc. So people gloss over them and don’t them a shot. But, also a lot of video games these days are the problem too. I say this because nowadays it’s really hard to pick up a video game without ever playing one before, because you have to learn all the mechanics. Which in the end also deters people from picking up video games as a medium of storytelling. This club wants to change that and to show to people that this medium of storytelling is one of the best.

Small Things Matter
Our clubs purpose is to help families in need in our community. We will work with the Small Things Matter Organization to collect and distribute resources and support for these families. This can include food, clothing and supply drives, volunteer opportunities, charity programs/ events, pantry distributions, and much more! Members will have a chance to earn SSL hours and engage in an active role in our community
